Team Hikeu is blogging!

After a couple of weeks of writing and writing for the website you'd think I'd be all written out, but I always have something more to say! Just ask Badmoon and Phantom. They would be soooooo bored without me!
Excited and psyched barely describe the mood around here. With the kick-off of Hikeu Adventure Guides we are inching ever so close to the perfect merging of living what we love! Not only do we get to hike, backpack, visit swimming holes, climb the Green Mountains of Vermont, view those glorious white blazes on the Long Trail and such, we are going to make a little money doing it. We keep life simple around here, so it doesn't take much to make us happy!
Spring is busting out all over up here in Vermont. After a late winter and loads of snow, it is so glorious to see our state resume it's beautiful green hue. The road up through Smugglers Notch is now open. It feels so odd to drive up the road after walking up there all winter long. We drove up this weekend and hiked up to Sterling Pond, intersecting with The Long Trail. There is still snow on the Trail where the sun doesn't shine, but the ice is completely out of the pond.
We are itching to get out for an overnight, but for right now we will be keeping our training hikes to shorter distances and lower elevations until the Trail firms up a bit.
Happy Trails!
